Driftwood Ceramics is hosting our third annual charity event in support of Kids & Art, a foundation that uses the power of the arts and creativity to mitigate stress, anxiety and trauma induced from the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric cancer and other critical medical conditions.

If you haven’t seen the thrilling TV show, then you’re in for a treat! Contestants will battle it out over 5 challenges, single elimination style. Each round they will have a prompt, make the tallest cylinder, throw the widest bowl, etc. on the potters wheel and whoever does the best will move on to the next round. No one will know the challenges until they are sitting down about to throw down! There will be a prize package for the final three contestants and a grand prize for the winner! We will also do a raffle so that viewers will be able to win things too! Not only will it be exciting to watch, you can also bet on who you think will win! All proceeds from bets will go towards Kids & Art.

​​​This event will be held April 26th, starting at 10:30am (sign in starts at 9:30am) and will be over by 4pm. All challenges will be doable at any pottery-level (even if you've never touched clay!). All events will be wheel throwing only and will be focused on size and amount of pieces thrown in a certain amount of time, instead of perfection of style, to be fair to all participants. Challenges will remain secret until the start of the event!

 

​We will also have free beer from Cinder Block Brewery at the event for everyone 21+!
